The City of Hopewell maintains an Enhanced 911 System that provides the communications center with phone numbers and addresses from which a call is being placed. The phone number and location appear on a screen for the communications officer to view within two seconds after the 911 call is answered. This feature enables communications officers to dispatch emergency assistance even if the caller is unable to relay their location.
