DMV Select
The City of Hopewell is partnered with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to provide selected DMV services in the City of Hopewell. By offering DMV Select at the Commissioner's office, customers can conduct many routine motor vehicle-related services at a convenient location.
What DMV Select Cannot Do
DMV Select partners conduct secure transactions while you wait; however, not all DMV transactions can be completed at DMV Select locations:
- DMV Selects do not issue or renew driver's licenses, learner's permits or identification cards.
- A DMV Select cannot process any online or franchise dealership work.
- A DMV Select is prohibited from processing mechanic/storage lien titles.
- DMV Selects do not issue Vital Records.
Appointments
The Hopewell DMV Select office is open By Appointment Monday-Friday 8:00am-3:30pm. All title transactions will require an appointment. Appointments can be made online at http://hopewellva.gov/ No appointments are required for other transactions, including registration renewals, handicapped placards, license plate surrender, address changes or E-Z Passes. Please Note: This Select office cannot issue Driver's Licenses (including Medical Cards for CDL's), Photo Id's, Vital Records documents, process insurance verifications or process Online and Franchise Dealership work.
The State's DMV website is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, customers can use the mail or DMV's automated telephone service at 804-497-7100.
