Group Swim Lessons

These sessions will introduce fundamentals of swimming in a small group. Instruction will range from basic water safety to independent swimming. The goal of each session will be building confidence in the water while developing strong swimming skills. All sessions will meet Monday-Friday for 50 minutes.

 

3-5 Age Group

Session 1:     January 13-17, 11-11:50 a.m.

Session 2:     March 9-13, 6:30-7:20 p.m.

Session 3:     May 4-8, 11-11:50 a.m.

 

6-15 Age Group

Session 1:    February 10-14, 6:30-7:20 p.m.

Session 2:    April 13-17, 6:30-7:20 p.m. 

 

16+ Age Group

Session 1:     January 27-31, 6:30-7:20 p.m.

Session 2:     March 23-27, 6:30-7:20 p.m.

 

Hopewell Community Center. $40/session.

Registration for each session ends the Friday before first class.

 

Private Swim Lessons

For ages 3+. These lessons are designed for children or adults. Each lesson will be tailored to the individual, based on their  ability and learning goals.  Sessions are limited and based on instructor availability. Limit two participants per lesson.

 

Hopewell Community Center. $150 for 8 hours of instruction, $75 for 4 hours of instruction.

 

Water Aerobics

Recommended for ages 12+. These classes will provide exercise to increase flexibility, range of motion, and cardiovascular endurance. No registration required. No swimming experience required.

 

Monday-Friday, 9-9:50 a.m.  $1/class.

Tuesdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m. $2/class.

Lifeguard Certification Classes

For ages 15+. This class will cover all aspects of training to be a lifeguard. This class is a blended learning course that combines online learning with in-person skills and learning. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam, at least two days prior to your first in person class session. A link will be sent to participants so they can complete the on-line portion, which takes about 8 hours, before attending class in person. Upon successful completion of the class, participants will receive a two year certification that includes lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, and AED administration.

1 Fish 2 Fish Red Fish Blue Fish

For ages 3-6. Float in for Dr. Seuss story time in honor of the famous author’s birthday! Fish for Green Eggs and Ham in McElligot's Pool, sing Happy Birthday to You, and taste ooey-gooey Oobleck cake! Parent participation is required. Adults and children must wear appropriate swimwear. Swim diapers will be available if needed. 

 

Monday, March 2, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Hopewell Community Center. $5/child.

 

Spring Break Swim Camp

For ages 6-12. These sessions will introduce your child to the fundamentals of swimming. Instruction will focus on basic water safety. The goal of each session will be building your child’s   confidence in the water. Each class will have built-in time for free play in the water monitored by an instructor. This camp will meet Monday-Friday for one hour.

 

Monday-Friday, April 6-10, 11 a.m.-noon.

Hopewell Community Center. $5.

Spring Break Splash Zone

For ages 6-12. Finish out Spring Break with a SPLASH at the Hopewell Community Center! Make a splash for "cash" that you can trade for prizes and race your friends through the obstacle course and down the giant slide! Everyone will enjoy pizza and snacks throughout the evening. Participants must wear appropriate swimwear. Activities will be led by certified lifeguards. All children must have an adult guardian present in the building. Children ages 6-9 that cannot pass swim test must have an adult with them in the water.  

 

Friday, April 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Hopewell Community Center. $5.

Registration ends April 9.

 

Underwater Garden Egg Hunt

For ages 5-12. Swim through the Easter Bunny’s hidden  underwater garden hunting for eggs! Grab a basket, hunt for fun-filled eggs in the pool, race your friends through our inflatable obstacle course, and slip down the giant slide. Participants must wear appropriate swimwear. Activities will be led by certified lifeguards. All children must have an adult present in the building. Children ages 6-9 that cannot pass swim test must have an adult with them in the water.

 

Saturday, April 4, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Hopewell Community Center. Free.

Registration ends March 26.
