It is that time of year! We have a variety of fun and exciting holiday activities coming your way!

Wonder City Ice Skating

To kick things off, the Wonder City Ice Skating Rink will open the season on Friday, November 12, at its new home at Mathis Park, 3502 River Road. The rink will operate on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season from 5-9 p.m. and skating passes will be sold online. Skate rental is included with skating passes. Physical distancing recommended while skating.

Hopewell Tour of Lights

This fun, self-guided tour of holiday lights will showcase Hopewell's most impressive Christmas decorations! Entries will be accepted through November 29. The list of entries will be published on December 3 and most homes will display decorations through December 31. Nightly viewing is recommended between the hours of 5-9 PM. Don't forget to cast a vote for your favorites from December 3-19. The top three winners in both the tacky and traditional categories will be announced the week of Christmas!

Light Up the Night

Hopewell's largest Christmas celebration, Light Up the Night, includes the annual parade, grand illumination, and downtown winter festival. This year's event will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the start of the parade. The parade will department Cavalier Square Shopping Center and follow 15th Avenue, City Point Road, and Main Street to the Ashford Civic Plaza downtown. Shortly after the parade, a brief ceremony will be held before the grand illumination of the Ashford Civic Plaza. Following the illumination from 6-8 p.m., you will find a variety of activities at the Hopewell Library and throughout the downtown area. In the library, children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and make crafts. Outside activities will include vendors, carriage rides, train rides, petting zoo, and much more! Don't forget to stop by your favorite downtown businesses to check out special offers and fun activities. Face coverings recommended for indoor activities; required for visits with Santa. Physical distancing recommended for outdoor activities.

Winter Wonderland

This fun winter festival at the Hopewell Community Center is designed for children of all abilities between the ages of 3-6. Walk the indoor winter character trail, stop at the photo booth, try out a miniature snow plow, make snow that you can take home, and much more. This activity is offered free of charge. Face coverings recommended.
