Soldiers Assist with Park Project

On Saturday, April 9, soldiers from Fort Lee's Army Logistics University assisted with an invasive species removal project at Heritage Gardens. Students from ALU-SLC 924 Class 22-006 came out in full force to help remove Kudzu, an invasive vine, that had taken over a fence line at the park space. The project is one small step toward the larger goal of creating a community learning garden and tree nursey at the underutilized park space. The project is driven by volunteer effort and we can't thank these brave men and women enough for giving up their Saturday morning to be with us. Thank you for your service to our nation and to our community!
