Therapeutic Recreation, also known as “TR,” is a new enrichment program in Hopewell that offers a variety of adaptive recreation activities for individuals with special needs, ranging from physical and developmental to emotional or cognitive impairments.
The mission of this new programming is to provide individuals with any impairment a chance to engage in meaningful activities in a safe space with those who may face similar challenges. Programs will be designed to accommodate specific needs and will take into account individual abilities and goals. Hopewell Recreation and Parks is excited to welcome AJ McCage to the team as the Community Programs Supervisor. AJ will be responsible for leading all of the department’s new TR programs. AJ is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and has extensive experience working with differently-abled populations.
