Family Night: Bricks-4-Kidz

Recommended for ages 5+.  This interactive Lego© design class will not only challenge you in building new creations but will also give you a chance to construct a motorized project. Each class will have a different theme and model design. Registration includes one child, one adult, and pizza dinner for both.  Parent participation is required.

Adventurous Journey Through Space

POP! Into Spring

For ages 12-15. Participants will enjoy pizza, drinks, snacks, games, music, and more! Be sure to bring your swimsuits, towel, tennis shoes, and game face. Registration is required and dinner is included.

Up the Wall Rock Climbing

For ages 8-11. Test your rock climbing skills at Richmond’s newest indoor rock climbing park, Peak Experiences. Participants will learn basic climbing skills under the supervision of trained belayers and department staff. Transportation, equipment, and lunch will be provided. Additional waiver is required for Peak Experiences.

Departs from Hopewell Community Center. $25.

Cosmic Bowling

For ages 10-14. Looking for something fun to do during Spring Break? Head to the Hopewell Bowling Center for an afternoon of fun and friendly competition. All skill levels welcome. Registration fee includes two games, shoe rental, and lunch combo.

Laser Tag & Putt-Putt

For ages 8-11. Test your aim at one of Richmond’s largest laser tag arenas and then try to get a hole-in-one on the mini golf course. Transportation, equipment, and lunch will be provided.

Departs from Hopewell Community Center. $25.

Tree Time Adventures

Recommended for ages 10+. Tree Time Adventures is an outdoor aerial obstacle course that will test your comfort with heights. See if you can navigate from one platform to another while facing a variety of obstacles or zoom through the tree canopy on one of the zip lines. All equipment will be provided.  Participants should wear clothing that is appropriate for outdoor activity and tennis shoes.  Admission fee will be paid by participants at the door.

VOLUNTEER WITH RECREATION AND PARKS!

Hopewell Recreation and Parks offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for both children and adults.  If you are in need of mandated community service, the department has flexible opportunities that work with most schedules.  Volunteer        opportunities include, but are not limited to, the areas listed below:

· Park construction

· Park maintenance

· Facility maintenance

· Special events

· Therapeutic Recreation

· Older adult programming

· Environmental improvement projects

· Litter removal

Volunteers will be required to sign a liability waiver before    participating in any department-sponsored opportunity.  Youth volunteers should be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times, unless otherwise noted.  Please follow Hopewell  Recreation and Parks on Facebook and Instagram @hopewellrecandparks for future volunteer opportunities.
